Steve Byrnes (1959–2015) was a NASCAR pit reporter and studio host for FOX Sports, beloved in the garage for his good humor and a familiar face of the network's NASCAR coverage. After his death from cancer, NASCAR renamed its Darlington media center award in his honor, a lasting tribute from the sport he covered. Byrnes was cremated, so no cemetery marks his resting place.
