Legends at Rest Driver profiles, their stories, and their final resting places.

About

Legends at Rest is a heritage project honoring the drivers, owners, crew chiefs, broadcasters, and builders who made stock car racing — and who are no longer with us. Each profile tells their story and, where it can be verified, documents their final resting place for the fans who still make the pilgrimage.

The profiles are adapted from the book Legends at Rest: NASCAR Legends by Howard Wear.

Resting places are published only when verified against a reliable source — a cemetery record, a memorial page, an obituary, or a headstone photograph. Where a burial cannot be verified, we say so rather than guess.

Photo credits appear on each profile. If you hold the rights to an image used here, or have a photograph or correction to contribute, we would love to hear from you.

Legends at Rest is an unofficial, independent heritage project created by fans, for fans. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NASCAR, any racing team, track, or estate.
