Clifford Allison

Driver Profiles

Clifford Allison, son of Bobby and younger brother of Davey, was working his way up through the Busch Series, chasing the family dream. He had shown real promise in NASCAR's junior ranks and was part of the close-knit Alabama Gang's next generation.

In August 1992, Clifford crashed during Busch Series practice at Michigan and was killed at 27. Less than a year later, Davey died in a helicopter crash, leaving Bobby Allison to endure the loss of both sons within eleven months – one of the cruelest stretches in sports history.
