Ken Squier (1935–2023) was a pioneering NASCAR broadcaster whose voice carried the sport from radio to television. Working for MRN Radio and CBS, he became, in 1979, the first announcer to call the Daytona 500 live, flag to flag, on television — a landmark in how America watched racing. He is co-namesake, with Barney Hall, of the NASCAR Hall of Fame's Squier-Hall Award for media excellence. His burial place is unrecorded.
