Marshall Teague, the 'King of the Beach,' won seven NASCAR Grand National races and was a hero of the Daytona beach-road course era, famously dominating in the 'Fabulous Hudson Hornet' and winning AAA stock car titles.

In February 1959, just eleven days before the first Daytona 500, Teague was testing his streamliner at the new Daytona International Speedway when it flipped at 171 mph. He died at 37, the new superspeedway's first fatality.
