Rob Moroso

Driver Profiles

Rob Moroso was the 1989 Busch Series champion and the 1990 Winston Cup Rookie of the Year, a wealthy young driver with genuine talent who had just begun his Cup career with his family team.

Late in his rookie season, Moroso was driving drunk on a North Carolina highway when he crossed the center line and killed himself and another driver, Tammy Williams. He was 22. The tragedy remains one of NASCAR's darkest off-track chapters.
