Pete Hamilton

Legends in Brief

Pete Hamilton (1942–2017) won the 1970 Daytona 500 in a Petty Enterprises Plymouth Superbird. He took four Cup victories in a short premier-series career before retiring at 31. Four wins in a brief career would be a fine legacy for any driver; Hamilton's is crowned by the sport's biggest prize. He rests at Peachtree Memorial Park in Norcross, Georgia.
