Buddy Arrington (1938–2022) was a Virginia independent driver-owner who made 560 NASCAR Cup starts between 1964 and 1988 without a victory. Doing it his own way, in his own Dodges, for 25 years made him a folk hero to fans — his 560 starts tell only half the story; the other half is a quarter-century of refusing to quit. He rests at the Arrington Family Cemetery in Penhook, Virginia.
